ICAO News Release (PIO 04/09) Industry Declaration in Support of Performance-based Navigation (PBN)

- The Global Performance-based Navigation Task Force (GPBNTF) now has a secure site available. Please visit http://portal.icao.int/ and register for GPBNTF. GPBNTF secure site registration instructions are HERE.

- 2 March 2009.  Mr. Muroya, Director-General of Air Traffic Services, JCAB opened the ICAO/JCAB Asia-Pacific PBN Implementation Seminar today at the new JCAB Aeronautical Safety College in Osaka, Japan.  Over 100 participants from 18 States and 4 international organizations attended this seminar to learn more about implementing PBN in their States.

-The Final Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) Manual (Doc 9613) has been added to the Documentation, ICAO Documentation area in English. The language versions will follow.

- IATA General Guidelines for Obtaining Airworthiness and Operational Approvals for PBN Navigation Specifications has been added to the Documentation area. This document provides guidance to Air Operators for obtaining Airworthiness and Operational Approvals for all Navigation Specifications contained in Volume II of the Performance Based Navigation Manual.

- State letter SP 65/4-08/58, dated 11 August 2008, can now be found in the Documentation / ICAO Documentation area.  This State letter relates to guidance material on required navigation performance authorization required (RNP AR) procedure design. This guidance will form the contents of Doc 9905 once officially published.
