Field Length in Item 10
ther has been much discussion regarding the field length in item 10a.
ICAO is unwilling to define a field length as the original discussions on the amendment by the FPL working group were unable to agree themselves on a definitive field length.
I have read suggestions that up to 53 characters could be utilised however the opinions I have sought seem to indicate much less would be acceptable.
 
Question:
 
  1. Who has done work on this field length who can provide their findings and suggest a common length.
  2. Any one else have any rational arguments as to what the field length should be.
